  4. Digital Almanac II is the astronomy software for your Amiga !!

  7. This version of DA II was especially produced for this Aminet-CD.

  21. What offers this program ?

  24. Digital Almanac is a "virtual telescope". That means, you can watch the stars, planet
  25. constellations and more from any location on Earth or the solar system from any time
  26. (sufficient accuracy about +/- 5000 years from today).
  27.  
  28. The program uses a MUI interface for easy use.
  29. It offers all the things, you desire, like:
  30. * Producing animations.
  31. * Dozens of possibilities in displaying, like objekt naming, constellations, (de)activating
  32.   of objekt groups, ephemeris calculation, ephemeris tables, eclipse calcation and
  33.   much more.

  38. Difference of this version to the commercial or shareware version

  41. * This version is less restrictied in its functionality as the shareware version.
  42.   But therefore it contains only a minium of data for demonstration purpose.

  45.   - Full printer and disk io.
  46.   - Saving of configurations is possible.
  47.   - The whole sky will be displayed, not only a part.
  48.   - You can watch the sky from any place, not only from Earth.
  49.   - Calculation of solar and lunar eclipses.

  52.   - No upgrade possibility.
  53.   - Star catalog only contains stars up to +6.0m.
  54.   - Only Messier- and NGC catalog.
  55.   - Amount of asteroids is limited to 20.

  57.   - No Quicktime or MPEG animations, only IFF-ANIM.
  58.     The number of frames is limited to 10.
  59.   - Saving of screen only as IFF-ILBM file.
  60.   - No support of the Hubble-GSC star catalog.

  63.   - No Message-Port for remote control of a telescope.

  83. Installation of DA II SE

  89. Simply double-click the "Assign-Me" script, then you can run the program directly from CD.
  90. To remove the assign, simply double-click "Assign-Remove".

  93. * Installation to harddrive: *

  96. In der folder "Installation" you will find an installation script.
  97. Simply choose your language.
  98. Follow the instructions of the Installer.

  100. Please read the final message of the Installer !!!
  101. After the installation you must perfom a manual setting in your MUI preferences.
  102. Without this setting DA will crash.

  104. If you still have problems in starting DA, please read the chapter "Troubleshooting" in the
  105. documentation. In 90% you will find the solution described in there.
